Job summary

Jefferson Wells, a ManpowerGroup division, seeks a General Ledger Accountant to join the finance team in a largely manufacturing environment. This contract role is onsite in Ashburn, VA, three days per week, focusing on month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and intercompany activity.

The ideal candidate has a BA in accounting/finance, 3+ years of experience, US GAAP knowledge, and strong Excel/ERP skills (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite). Competitive W2 rate offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Solid understanding of US GAAP and general accounting principles.
• Experience with inventory accounting and cost accounting preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end and year-end close processes with accuracy and deadlines.
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments per GAAP.
• Perform general ledger reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Handle intercompany transactions and reconciliations across entities.
• Support inventory accounting, COGS analysis, and inventory valuation.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams for accurate production cost reporting.
• Assist in financial audits with required documentation.
• Contribute to process improvements and internal controls.
