Job summary

Menasha Packaging Company is seeking reliable individuals for a general labor role at our Yukon, PA plant. You will learn through training to move into machine helper and operator positions, with opportunities to advance as shifts 2nd and 3rd dominate. You must be flexible for overtime and weekends.

Starting pay for Manufacturing General Labor is $21.68 per hour, rising to $22.68 after 60 days, with available wage increases after posted job assignments. Training may begin on 1st shift.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate commitment to safety and follow company safety policies.
• Perform machine operations: setup, packing, palletizing, bundling, stacking, sorting.
• Assist operators to run machine centers efficiently.
• Maintain quality by adhering to customer standards and checking finished products.
• Understand work orders, load tags, time sheets and palletizing instructions.
• Operate computer systems for data input and record-keeping.
• Maintain sanitation and upkeep of equipment and work area.
• Adapt to different shifts and support vacation or business needs.

Job Duties

• Demonstrate commitment to safety and perform job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures
• Perform job functions in an accurate and efficient manner, such as: Machine operations including: machine set up, packing, palletizing, bundling, stacking, sorting, etc.
• Assist operators in efficient operation of the machine centers
• Demonstrate commitment to quality and perform job duties in adherence to customer standards
• Understand production work orders, load tags, time sheets and all other relevant documents, and palletizing instructions
• Understand computer system and input of data
• Perform quality checks on finished corrugated products and identify defects
• Maintain production efficiencies and standards
• Play an active role in the maintenance and cleanliness of assigned equipment and surrounding work area
• Understand department communication systems, schedules, time/attendance system and job reporting requirements
• Perform other duties as assigned by management/supervisors

Essential to this Position

Manufacturing General Labor pay starts at $21.68 and increases to $22.68 after 60 days. Opportunities: Able to sign for posted jobs after 60 days, which will provide higher wages than general labor. Shifts: Most openings are on 2nd and 3rd shift. Some training may occur on 1st shift. Flexibility between shifts is required to support vacation coverage or business needs. Core Shift Times: 2nd: 3:00pm to 11:00pm, 3rd: 11:00pm to 7:00am You must be comfortable working mandatory overtime, including weekends, as needed.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent - preferred
