Job summary

CompoSecure, a leading manufacturer of Premium Metal Payment Cards, is seeking an Associate Staff Accountant in Somerset, NJ. This full-time, onsite role supports general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end close, partnering with operations and management to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with GAAP.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor's in accounting/finance, CPA or candidate preferred, 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, and strong Excel and ERP skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance required.
• CPA designation or CPA candidate preferred.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience; manufacturing accounting experience preferred.
• Experience with ERP systems.
• Experience supporting month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, and financial analysis).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software applications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Prepare and post journal entries and supporting documentation.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist with cash flow reporting.
• Support financial reporting and analysis with schedules and reports.
• Maintain accounting records in ERP system (Visual and OneStream).
• Assist with external audits and compliance activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls.
• Provide cross-functional support and backup for other accounting functions.
• Train and assist team members on procedures and systems.
