Job summary

Bright Machines Lead role directs day-to-day production on the floor, serving as the link between frontline operators and the Operations Supervisor. This hands-on position requires deep production knowledge and proactive issue resolution to meet safety, quality, and output goals.

You will run start-up meetings, monitor line balance, and coach workers to follow standard work. Experience on assembly lines in electronics or high-mix environments is valued, with Lean principles a plus.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in manufacturing with 1+ year in a lead/trainer role.
• Hands-on assembly-line experience in electronics/server/high-mix manufacturing.
• Knowledge of standard work and production flow.
• Able to work in a fast-paced automated environment.
• Familiar with MES/ERP production tracking tools.
• Lean principles (5S, waste reduction) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate operators on assigned lines to meet daily output targets.
• Escalate production issues, downtime, and material shortages during shifts.
• Lead shift start-up meetings and ensure smooth handoffs between shifts.
• Monitor line balance and reassign operators to maintain production flow.
• Actively participate in production activities as a hands-on lead.
• Support onboarding and cross-training of new team members.
• Coach operators to follow standard work and safety procedures.
• Report hourly/shift performance metrics to the supervisor.
• Assist with line changes, process adjustments, and new product introductions.
