Job summary

BARNES is seeking a seasoned Finance Leader to oversee the Lansing, MI site. You will manage the finance team, own the monthly close and reporting under U.S. GAAP, and drive control integrity across inventory and assets.

In this role, you will lead budget planning, forecasting, and performance reviews, partnering with site leadership to deliver financial commitments and profitable growth through actionable insights.

Qualifications

• Seven+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience with at least 3 years in people leadership.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, cost accounting, inventory valuation and controls.
• Experience in manufacturing operations and capital investment analysis.
• Ability to lead close, forecasting, and provide actionable recommendations.
• Proven coaching, leadership, and change-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Finance function for Lansing, MI, including development and coaching of site finance team (1x direct report).
• Own monthly close, financial reporting, and balance sheet review per U.S. GAAP and internal controls.
• Maintain site financial-control environment including inventory accounting, CAARs, and audit support.
• Lead operating plan, strategic plan, forecasting, and monthly performance management with insights.
• Partner with General Manager and site leadership to drive business strategy and forecast accuracy.
• Provide financial leadership across manufacturing operations, including labor, overhead, and capital investment analysis.
• Evaluate opportunities, pricing, and strategic initiatives to support profitable growth.
• Identify and execute continuous-improvement and cost-control initiatives to improve efficiency.
