Job summary

Smith+Nephew is seeking an Assistant Controller, Memphis Manufacturing, to partner with the Site Controller and leadership. You will drive the financial close, forecasting, budgeting, and cost analysis for the site, connecting operational performance to financial outcomes.

The role requires 7+ years in accounting/controllership, strong ERP experience (SAP preferred), advanced Excel, and capability with Power BI for analytics. Hybrid work is supported in this manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA preferred.
• MBA or advanced Finance/Accounting degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the site's monthly financial close with timely, accurate reporting.
• Support forecasting, budgets, and ongoing financial performance reviews.
• Analyze manufacturing performance, costs, and variances for actionable insights.
• Explain variances across material usage, labor, overhead, scrap, yield, and inventory movements.
• Support standard costing processes and inventory valuation activities.
• Provide financial insight to site leadership to improve performance.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and SOX.
