Job description

Head of Facilities

Axiom Custom Products is a custom manufacturer and designer serving the creative, events, retail, and construction industries. In our 75,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility, we combine decades of expertise with modern and traditional manufacturing technologies to deliver exceptional quality.

We’re looking for aHead of Facilitiesto take ownership of everything that keeps our building, equipment, and shop running safely and efficiently. This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who understands manufacturing environments, knows how to prevent problems before they happen, and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves when something needs fixing.

With 5+ years of experience in facilities, maintenance, or a similar manufacturing environment, you’ll oversee building operations, production equipment, safety and compliance, vendors, fleet, and facilities projects. You’ll lead a two-person facilities team while serving as the primary point of contact for our landlord, contractors, service providers, and internal teams.

A major focus of the role is our production infrastructure. You’ll own preventive maintenance programs, inspections, repairs, and equipment reliability across everything from CNC routers, lasers, and robotics to compressed air, dust collection, paint and powder‑coat systems, forklifts, and hand tools. Your goal is simple: keep our people safe and our production moving.

You’ll also lead our Environmental, Health & Safety efforts, ensuring compliance with OSHA and applicable local, state, and insurance requirements. That includes safety programs, training, inspections, emergency preparedness, and continuous improvement.

The right person is proactive, organized, resourceful, and an excellent communicator. You’re comfortable managing projects, budgets, vendors, and documentation, and you know how to balance long‑term planning with the inevitable “something just broke” moments. You bring structure without slowing things down, and you’re equally comfortable leading a team, solving a problem yourself, or mentoring someone through it.

Our shop is fast‑paced, collaborative, and constantly changing. No two days are exactly alike, and that’s part of the fun. If you thrive on solving problems, improving systems, and taking ownership, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the people, processes, and spaces that power Axiom.

What You’ll Own

You’ll oversee daily building operations, maintenance, repairs, utilities, security, access control, waste management, and our relationship with the landlord. You’ll take full responsibility for production equipment and shop infrastructure, developing preventive maintenance schedules and coordinating repairs to minimize downtime.

You’ll lead efforts and maintain programs that keep our team safe and compliant. You’ll manage and mentor our two-person facilities team, prioritize projects, and ensure work is completed efficiently and with minimal disruption to production.

You’ll also manage facility vendors and service contracts, purchase specialty equipment, tooling, consumables, and contractor services, and oversee our fleet of vehicles and trailers, including maintenance, insurance documentation, driver training, and approvals.

Our equipment includes Thermwood 3‑axis routers, a Royce 5‑axis router, Kuka 7‑axis robot, Amada press brake, Kern laser, powder‑coat spray booth and oven, paint booths, solvent recycler, compressors, vacuum former, edge‑bander, dowel maker, casework clamp, drill press, jointer, table saw, overhead sander, forklifts, fleet vans and trailers, and the building systems that support it all.

How We Work

We’re a collaborative team that values initiative, accountability, and practical problem‑solving. This is an on‑site role in an active manufacturing environment with exposure to tools, machinery, and industrial processes. Safety is fundamental to how we work, not an afterthought.

The Reward

This role pays$80,000–$100,000, depending on experience. We offer excellent benefits, including medical, dental, and vision coverage with dependent options; 401(k) and Roth investment options; an employee assistance program; 20 days of accrued PTO after your first year; six paid holidays; and parental leave.

And yes, our office is dog friendly.
