Job summary

Coherent Corp. in Delaware seeks a Director of Manufacturing Operations to lead the site with hands-on, safety-driven, and cost-conscious execution of the production plan.

You will build a high-performing operations team, drive Lean and continuous-improvement, and ensure quality, scheduling, maintenance, and facilities coordination across functions. Responsibilities include leading daily manufacturing, developing leaders, aligning with Engineering, Quality, EHS, Purchasing, Finance, and Supply

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
• 10+ years of manufacturing/operations leadership experience.
• Demonstrated Lean leadership and CI results in productivity, yield, quality, cost, delivery or flow.
• Experience establishing or improving production planning, scheduling, WIP control, and shop-floor flow.
• Preferred: experience managing a unionized workforce.
• Preferred: experience in advanced materials, ceramics, semiconductor components, or other complex industrial manufacturing.
• Preferred: experience implementing or significantly improving an ERP or MES.
• Demonstrated ability to lead through others and sustain accountability in a changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily manufacturing execution across the Delaware site with hands-on leadership.
• Direct and develop the Production Manager, Planner/Scheduler, Maintenance Manager, and Special Projects Manager.
• Set operating expectations, establish routines, remove barriers, and hold leaders accountable.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and execute site priorities.
• Establish reliable planning and scheduling aligned with customer commitments and capacity.
