Job summary

Nbutexas in Laotto, IN is seeking an experienced Estimator who can translate customer requirements into accurate, competitive proposals for custom automation equipment, fixtures, tooling, and workholding projects. You will collaborate with sales, engineering and production to review RFQs and drawings, obtain supplier pricing, and develop timely cost estimates that meet customer deadlines.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of manufacturing, tooling, engineering, purchasing, planning, or estimating experience.
• Experience estimating custom automation equipment, fixtures, tooling, or workholding solutions.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read blueprints, GD&T, and engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical control systems.
• Experience with SolidWorks 3D CAD and Microsoft Office.
• Engineering degree preferred but not required with relevant industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates and customer quotations for custom automation, tooling, fixtures, and workholding projects.
• Review RFQs, statements of work, engineering drawings, and customer specifications to develop accurate project costs.
• Collaborate with sales, engineering, designers, and shop personnel to develop practical manufacturing concepts.
• Communicate with customers to clarify project requirements and ensure complete project scope.
• Obtain supplier pricing and lead times for purchased components.
• Analyze labor, material, machining, and manufacturing costs to develop competitive proposals.
• Maintain historical cost data and stay current on manufacturing technologies that improve project value.
• Manage multiple estimates simultaneously while meeting customer deadlines.
