Job summary

gpac is seeking a Manufacturing Estimator for an established industrial manufacturer in Illinois. This role is ideal for a manufacturing professional with experience in CNC machining, manufacturing engineering, production planning, or related areas who has exposure to quoting, estimating, or cost analysis.

The company is willing to train the right candidate. Responsibilities include reviewing RFQs and drawings, developing routings, preparing cost estimates, evaluating machining and materials

Qualifications

• 2+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Experience with quoting, estimating, or cost analysis preferred.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Strong understanding of machining and manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with GD&T is a plus.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and technical aptitude.
• Willingness and ability to learn new manufacturing processes and estimating methods.

Responsibilities

• Review customer RFQs, drawings, specifications, and technical requirements to determine manufacturing processes, labor, materials, tooling, and outside services required.
• Develop manufacturing routings and prepare accurate, competitive cost estimates and quotations.
• Evaluate machining, material, tooling, labor, machine, and outside-processing costs.
• Review parts for manufacturability and identify potential production challenges or opportunities to improve manufacturing methods and control costs.
• Work closely with Sales, Engineering, and Production to develop quotes and provide technical information related to manufacturing capabilities, cost, and lead time.
• Utilize historical manufacturing information and production data to improve estimating accuracy.
• Support custom and engineered manufacturing projects from RFQ through production.
