Job summary

Intel in the United States warm Phoenix site is seeking a Module Equipment Technician to service advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment. You will troubleshoot, calibrate, and maintain electromechanical systems, supporting experiments and modifications that drive cutting‑edge results.

You will work with ATPD: SWA to improve reliability and yield, collaborating with engineering and support teams while adhering to cleanroom safety and on‑site requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 2+ years of experience or related paths.
  • Technical hands‑on experience in electrical/mechanical maintenance.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Experience in semiconductor equipment maintenance or field service is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues on production equipment.
  • Perform setup, calibration, and preventative maintenance on toolsets.
  • Monitor tool performance and analyze data to address issues.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to improve reliability and uptime.
  • Document maintenance activity and parts usage using established systems.
  • Support cleanroom operations while following safety protocols.

Job Description: As a Module Equipment Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of advanced manufacturing equipment used in semiconductor production. Your work will directly contribute to enhancing equipment reliability and optimizing production efficiency, making an essential impact on Intel's manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting to diagnose issues with manufacturing equipment.
  • Execute setup, calibration, corrective and preventative maintenance on production equipment, including wet chemistry, plating, and dry high‑vacuum toolsets.
  • Monitor tool performance and analyze data to identify and address equipment‑related issues.
  • Collaborate with engineering and support teams to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Document maintenance activities, repair findings, and parts usage using established systems and procedures.
  • Lead or contribute to continuous improvement projects, focusing on equipment optimization and yield enhancements.
  • Support cleanroom operations while adhering to safety protocols and maintaining full cleanroom attire.

Work Model

This position requires regular onsite presence to perform essential job responsibilities and support manufacturing operations.

Shift Hours

Employees working Shift 4 (Sun‑Tues and alternating Saturday nights) start their shift at 6:00 PM and finish at 6:30 AM.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum qualifications and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork, classes, research, relevant previous job, and/or internship experiences. This position is not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Candidates must meet at least one of the following requirements:
    • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) with 2+ years of experience.
    • Associate degree in a technical field and 5+ years of experience in equipment maintenance or a related discipline.
    • HS/GED or higher non‑semi degree AND 4+ years Field Service Engineer (2) level semiconductor maintenance experience
    • HS/GED or higher non‑semi degree AND 6+ years related hands on experience including military technical experience
  • This position requires:
    • Lift 25-pound parts 1-2 times per shift (on average)
    • Climb and perform work on ladders 1-3 times per shift (on average)
    • Standing and walking for up to 80% of the workday.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ years of experience in troubleshooting, installation, repair, and operation of electromechanical equipment used in semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Proficiency with wet chemistry, plating, and/or dry high‑vacuum equipment in a manufacturing or research environment.
  • Experience using electrical/mechanical measuring devices such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Capability to read and interpret complex electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Familiarity with tools like torque wrenches and standard hand tools for equipment repair.
