Job summary

Intel's Oregon Wafer Packaging Manufacturing group seeks a Metro Module Equipment Technician for the night shift to maintain and optimize semiconductor tooling. You will troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and document equipment performance while supporting ramp activities with engineering teams.

The role requires hands-on experience with electromechanical systems, attention to quality, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose failures in non-functioning equipment on the line.
• Dismantle, adjust, repair and reassemble equipment per specs and drawings.
• Set up, calibrate and perform preventative maintenance on tools.
• Monitor equipment performance data and classify defects for improvement.
• Create reports on failures and update specifications and docs.
• Coordinate service with suppliers and support engineering experiments.
• Assist with tool installation, conversion and ramp activities with cross-functional teams.

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Metro Module Equipment Technician to join our Night Shift team in Oregon. In this hands-on role, you will be a critical contributor to the performance and reliability of Intel's semiconductor manufacturing equipment. You will troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize tools that are essential to Intel's production processes, directly supporting our ability to deliver cutting-edge technologies to the world. Key Responsibilities

• Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve issues in non-functioning manufacturing equipment
• Dismantle, adjust, repair, and reassemble equipment using Intel specifications, blueprints, manuals, and technical drawings
• Execute equipment setup, calibration, and preventative maintenance to ensure optimal tool performance
• Monitor and analyze equipment performance data; review and classify inline defects to drive continuous improvement
• Create detailed reports on system failures, update existing specifications, and develop new documentation to support equipment maintenance goals
• Coordinate with suppliers for service and repairs as required
• Collaborate with Module Engineering teams to execute experiments, implement equipment configuration changes, and support data collection activities
• Support factory ramps by ensuring tools are installed or converted per design specifications in partnership with engineering and construction teams

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience would be obtained through a combination of prior education level classes, and current level school classes, projects, research and relevant previous job and/or internship experience. Minimum Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet at least one of the following education and experience combinations:

• High School diploma or GED AND 4+ months of work experience gained through a certification program, apprenticeship, Quick Start program, or other short-term technician program under 1 year in duration (Examples include: CNM Mechatronics 1-term certificate, Quick Start technician programs, or equivalent)
• High School diploma or GED (or higher, non-semiconductor degree) AND a technical certification or completion of a related trade school program in electronics, electromechanical systems, manufacturing technology, or a related field
• High School diploma or GED (or higher, non-semiconductor degree) AND 2+ years of related hands‑on experience in equipment maintenance, semiconductor manufacturing, or a related technical field (military technical experience accepted)
• High School diploma or GED (or higher, non-semiconductor degree) AND 1+ year of experience specifically in related equipment maintenance
• Associate degree in a STEM field related to semiconductor manufacturing (e.g., Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Electronics Technology, Mechatronics) — no prior professional experience required
• High School diploma or GED (or higher, non-semiconductor degree) AND 4+ years of related hands‑on experience in equipment maintenance, semiconductor manufacturing, or a related technical field (military technical experience accepted)
• High School diploma or GED (or higher, non-semiconductor degree) AND 2.5+ years of experience specifically in related equipment maintenance
• High School diploma or GED (or higher, non-semiconductor degree) AND a technical or trade certification OR 3+ years of related technical experience
• Associate degree in a STEM field related to semiconductor manufacturing (e.g., Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Electronics Technology, Mechatronics) AND 2+ years of related equipment maintenance experience
• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field related to semiconductor manufacturing (e.g., Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics) — no prior professional experience required

Preferred Qualifications

4+ months of experience in:

• Electromechanical systems commonly used in semiconductor manufacturing environments, including robotic drives, actuators, and microcontrollers
• Reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and technical blueprints
• Defect review and classification processes in a manufacturing environment
• Data analysis tools used for monitoring and improving equipment performance
• Supporting equipment installation, conversion, or factory ramp activities
• Working in a shift-based manufacturing environment, particularly night shift operations

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US: $44,230.00 - 85,340.00 USD (Hourly Role)
