Job Purpose

The primary mission of this position is to lead activities related to equipment characteristic improvement for the Ohio Transmission Plant, High Pressure Die Cast Department. This will be accomplished by performing true root cause analysis of top problems and implementing countermeasures.

The goal is to facilitate department S, Q, and D metric target achievement.

Key Accountabilities

Manufacturing Equipment Expert:

• Equipment top problem root cause analysis and permanent countermeasure.
• Collect, analyze, and summarize information and trends related to equipment performance.
• Identify improvement opportunities for Key Performance Indicators and for cost avoidance/elimination.
• Become an expert in a specific area of automation technology (i.e., PLC, Motion Control, Robotics, etc…) Then, train associates on equipment or process changes.
• Lifecycle management of manufacturing equipment (Spare Parts, Procedures, PMs).
• Project Management: Define and create scope of design and construction for renovation, upgrade of existing electrical systems, or for build of a new system with a focus on cost control. Conduct PDCA during design and implementation. Create, implement, and maintain project schedules and achieve desired results.
• Review, verify, and approve electrical engineering drawings at various design completion levels. Work with and manage contractors' activities throughout project phases.
• Support the development of new processes using manufacturing expertise.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• If BSEE, then 0 years of experience; if experience only, then 6 years in related field.
• Proficiency in team interaction, PLC Programming, Robotics, Vision Systems, electrical controls, safety systems, servo motors, VFD control, AutoCAD electrical design, MS Office.

Working Conditions

• Work at the factory site.
• Approximately 2 weeks of domestic and international travel annually, with 300-500 hours of overtime.
