Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Quality Technician in Ohio to support production with documentation control, process improvements and inspection activities. You will develop procedures, review records, assist with training, and participate in corrective actions to maintain ISO 9001 standards.

Responsibilities include first article inspections, calibration of tools, reviewing incoming parts, locating nonconformities, and assisting with problem solving to prevent recurrence.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required with vocational schooling preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and use measuring tools.
  • Strong attention to detail with proficiency in MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Administer the document control system.
  • Review and store production inspection records.
  • Assist with production training in soldering and ESD prevention.
  • Address issues that arise during production builds.
  • Conduct incoming inspection of purchased parts to ensure conformance to required specifications, address discrepancies, and maintain records.
  • Complete first article inspection and documentation.
  • Assist with adherence to the quality management system and ISO 9001; advise all areas on quality measurements.
  • Attend improvement meetings and contribute to corrective and preventive actions.
  • Use calibration system; calibrate torque guns, gauges, instruments, and hand tools.
  • Assist with analysis of returned material per RMA; identify problems and record results.
  • Assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Monitor disposition of components rejected by Production with a red tag.
  • Other duties as assigned to meet customer or business needs.

  • Administer the document control system.

  • Conduct incoming inspection of purchased parts to ensure conformance to required specifications, address and elevate discrepancies, and maintain records.
  • Complete first article inspection and documentation.
  • Assist with adherence to the quality management system and ISO 9001. Advise all functional areas regarding quality system measurements and procedures.
  • Attend and report at regular improvement meetings, contributing to corrective and preventive actions to external and internal quality related concerns.
  • Use the calibration system, ensuring all equipment in use has a current calibration. Calibrate torque guns, gauges, instruments, and hand tools.
  • Assist with analysis of returned material from customers in accordance with the return material authorization (RMA) process: identify extent of problems involved, rework/repair as feasible, and record results in detail.
  • Assist with problem solving, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Monitor and determine disposition of components and assemblies rejected by Production with a red tag.
  • Other duties as assigned or as required to meet customer or business needs.
