Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. in Whitehall, MI is seeking an Engineering Technician to support Plant 10 and Plant 3 engineering teams on the shop floor.

Responsibilities include assisting engineers with reports and process packages, monitoring processes for improvements, reviewing nonconforming materials, and ensuring compliance with EHS rules; requires an Associate degree in manufacturing/industrial or mechanical technology and at least two years manufacturing experience (or six months continuous).

Qualifications

• Associate degree in manufacturing industrial or mechanical technology.
• Minimum of two years of work history in manufacturing or six months continuous experience.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States; visa sponsorship not available.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers in report preparation, process approval packages, dimensional reports, deviated material reports, lab sample collection/submittal, etc.
• Monitor process outputs to identify areas for improvements and cost reduction and implement actions to achieve targets and goals.
• Review nonconforming materials for cause and corrective action and MRB submittal.
• Daily on-the-floor support in shipping to update ship hold data base and release product as directed by engineering.
• Comply with all EHS rules required for the work environment.
