Job summary

Lockheed Martin LM-MFC in the United States is seeking a highly experienced Manufacturing/Production Engineer leader focused on assembly, integration and test operations. You will drive process optimization, tool performance, and data-driven continuous improvement initiatives.

You will collaborate across Quality, ESH, and ordnance safety teams, leverage LM data systems, and guide design-to-manufacture integration to achieve affordability and reliability in defense programs.

Qualifications

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline with 7 years of manufacturing experience.
  • U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain and retain a DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Experience leading a technical team in a manufacturing factory environment.
  • Ability to obtain ATF employee possessor status as defined by ATF regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead production engineering activities for LM-MFC across assemblies, integration and test operations.
  • Evaluate performance and drive continuous improvement using data analytics and SPC approaches.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance, ESH, and Ordnance Safety, Facilities Engineering, and government customers.
  • Translate design concepts into optimized manufacturing processes and build sequences.

Drives adoption of new technologies and processes (automation, robotics, computer aided manufacturing software, etc.) to achieve greater efficiency, cost reduction and quality improvement. Creates and analyzes 3D based model data environment to optimize manufacturing process and digital work instructions. Leverages understanding of materials and automatic processes to define operations procedures and build sequences to drive operational excellence. Evaluates performance (including IoT devices, etc.) of equipment and tools to verify their efficiency and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure operational excellence. Leverages factory data to develop statistical process control approaches and integrates reporting and data analytics solutions for continuous improvement. Provides input to product design regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.

Basic Qualifications

Minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a technical discipline with 7 years of manufacturing experience in assembly, integration, and test operations.

Must possess and demonstrate Full Spectrum Leadership competencies including (1) delivering results, (2) shaping the future, (3) build effective relationship, (4) energizing the team, and (5) model personal excellence, integrity, and accountability.

Experience successfully leading a technical team effort in a manufacturing factory environment.

Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and retain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance. Lockheed Martin will assist selected candidate with obtaining at least an Interim Secret Clearance prior to starting.

Must be able to pass a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (“ATF”) background investigation to obtain “employee possessor” approval (of explosives or other ATF-regulated items) as defined by ATF regulations. Failure to obtain and retain employee possessor status may result in revocation of an offer and loss of employment.

Desired Skills

Previous LM-MFC Production Engineering Leadership experience.

Advanced education with manufacturing experience in ordnance assembly, integration, and test operations.

Experience working with multi-functional teams including members from Quality Assurance, ESH and Ordnance Safety, Facilities Engineering, Production Control & Transportation, Project Engineering / Management and U.S. Government Customer Representatives.

LM Lean Six Sigma Green / Black Belt certification.

Working knowledge of Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (LM-MFC) production data systems (Windchill, MPM-Link, Apriso, SAP), test equipment and tooling hardware and document control.

Experience with design, fabrication, installation, initial calibration, prove-out and maintenance of special tools and equipment, continuous yield improvement activities, root cause and corrective action analysis, cost reduction (affordability) and post-production depot operation activities.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $129000.00 - $239600.00

PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
