Job summary

AMOT Controls Corp. in Houston is seeking an experienced Manufacturing/Process Engineer to lead NPI and process improvements for actuator products.

You will partner with Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain to drive yield, cost targets, and on-time ramp, while developing test methods and fixtures for new and existing products.

The role requires 7–10 years in manufacturing engineering, a Bachelor's in engineering, and strong Lean/CPK capabilities to optimize processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering required; advanced degree a plus.
• 7–10 years of progressive manufacturing/process engineering experience, including direct ownership of NPI and new process/test set-up.
• Electronics or electro-mechanical assembly and test experience — actuators, motors, PCB/harness assemblies.
• Experience in high-mix, low-volume industrial manufacturing; valve/flow control preferred.
• Experience designing manufacturing layouts and test fixtures/equipment.
• Strong Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement knowledge (5S, Kaizen, standard work).
• Reading schematics; troubleshooting electro-mechanical assemblies.
• Experience managing supplier relationships and resolving quality/process issues.
• Knowledge of job travelers and routing setup principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead New Product Introduction from design transfer through pilot build and ramp.
• Partner with Engineering on DFM/DFA reviews for new products.
• Lead manufacturing process improvement initiatives to improve yield, cycle time, and cost.
• Analyze scrap, rework, and yield data; drive root-cause analysis and CAPA.
• Design and implement new assembly/test process setups and layouts.
• Specify, justify, and commission new manufacturing and test equipment.
• Serve as manufacturing SME for actuator product line; troubleshoot electronic subsystems.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain and suppliers on process and quality issues.
