Job summary

Gradian Thermal Solutions in Dayton, MN seeks a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead the manufacturing engineering and maintenance team. You will drive process design, tooling, layout, and continuous improvement across air handling units, DX, chillers, and CDU product lines, while ensuring manufacturability at program gates and advancing automation on the floor.

You will own safety, PFMEA, and documentation, collaborate with Design, Quality, and Supply Chain, and mentor engineers to achieve

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• 7–10 years in manufacturing engineering with 3+ years in leadership.
• Proven experience leading NPI from design release to production ramp.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of manufacturing engineers and maintenance, setting goals and priorities.
• Own NPI programs for process readiness, tooling, and manufacturability at each gate.
• Implement DFM/DFA early in the design cycle.
• Design, build, and improve processes, tooling, fixtures, and plant layout for safety, quality, throughput, and cost.
• Develop and justify capital equipment requests.
• Eliminate bottlenecks via line balancing, time studies, and capacity planning.
• Lead lean and 80/20 driven CI with measurable gains in yield and OEE.
• Ensure PFMEA and control plans with Quality for critical characteristics.
• Maintain routings, BOMs, work instructions, and process plans.
• Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for issues.
• Own safety risk assessment and OSHA/compliance sign-off.
• Drive automation and Industry 4.0 adoption with connected equipment and dashboards.
• Partner with Supply Chain on manufacturability and tooling/vendor qualification.
• Share best practices across Gradian’s plant network.
• Report performance metrics to plant leadership to guide decisions.
