Job summary

Kongsberg Automotive is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead the manufacturing engineering and maintenance teams, focus on safe, efficient operation, and drive continuous improvement across processes and equipment modernization.

You will oversee budget, collaborate with suppliers, and ensure adherence to automotive quality standards while delivering improved uptime and cost control in a fast-paced facility.

• Strong leadership and mentoring ability for a manufacturing team.
• Proven problem solving and decision making in complex scenarios.
• Deep knowledge of manufacturing processes, assembly, machining and automation.
• Proficiency in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
• Solid project management skills with multiple projects and budgets.
• Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Familiarity with ISO/IATF quality standards and regulatory compliance.
• Analytical mindset to turn data into improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the manufacturing engineering and maintenance teams.
• Optimize production processes for efficiency, quality and safety.
• Drive 5S, Lean initiatives, and continuous improvements to cut waste.
• Monitor production metrics and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure regulatory and company policy compliance for safe operations.
• Oversee equipment upgrades, automation, and technology implementations.
• Manage the manufacturing engineering budget and resource planning.
• Collaborate with suppliers to source new tech and cost reductions.
• Provide technical guidance to resolve complex manufacturing issues.
• Support KPI attainment including CAPEX projects and P&L awareness.
