Job summary

SKF Group in Sumter, SC, seeks an experienced manufacturing engineering leader to direct the Sumter factory's engineering function. You will oversee new machines, tooling, materials, and processes, while improving existing ones and supporting new programs.

You will supervise engineers, coordinate with other departments, and manage capital projects, ensuring timely, within-budget delivery. Strong leadership and cost-conscious mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Ten years of engineering experience, preferably in machining and assembly.
• 3+ years in a leadership role is preferred.
• Ability to motivate and direct an engineering staff and communicate at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering staff daily to support and resolve production issues.
• Develop and implement corrective actions with the engineering team.
• Manage capital requests and feasibility studies for new/refurbished equipment.
• Oversee project timelines and budgets for engineering initiatives.
• Identify process improvements and cost reductions across manufacturing operations.
• Set engineering and tooling standards to optimize resource use.
• Coordinate design, manufacture and run-off of new or refurbished equipment.
• Provide data, cost estimates and documentation for process improvement projects.
• Maintain organized machine tool filing systems and training for subordinates.
• Plan layouts and staffing to meet production needs and company goals.
