Job summary

Accounting Search in Saint Joseph, MI is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to own and optimize engineering activities for a high-velocity automotive plant. You will lead a team of manufacturing engineers and technicians, drive continuous improvement, and oversee launches, capital equipment projects, and cross-functional collaboration with the GM and suppliers.

The role emphasizes floor-level problem solving, KPI development, and mentoring a team with a strong tenure.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
Minimum five years in manufacturing engineering management with background in manufacturing/process engineering.
Experience in metals environments ( stamping, machining, fabrication) or automotive supplier experience.
Strong track record of continuous improvement with tangible results.
Experience overseeing direct reports and project management.
Experience with product launches and reading blueprints.
Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

Supervise and mentor an engineering team of manufacturing professionals.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives and KPI development.
Manage all engineering activities for new product launches.
Resolve issues on the manufacturing floor and drive root-cause problem solving.
Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments, suppliers, and contractors.
Standardize processes and create detailed engineering plans and SOPs.
Monitor department labor utilization and manage project costs and ROI.
Direct capital equipment projects from concept to execution, including vendor vetting.
