Job summary

MPI is seeking a senior Manufacturing Engineering leader in Massachusetts to oversee a team of Manufacturing Engineers and CNC programming resources, driving process improvements and ensuring safe, cost-effective production.

The role partners with Operations and Program Management to advance new product introductions, production readiness, and ongoing program execution, while leading capital projects and digital manufacturing initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 8+ years of manufacturing engineering and/or leadership experience.
• Experience in machining, assembly, fabrication, or other industrial environments.
• Strong collaboration with Operations and Program Management.
• Ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance (US citizenship required).

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Manufacturing Engineers and technical resources.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Develop and implement manufacturing strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Manage manufacturing engineering priorities, workload, and resources.
• Support machining, fabrication, assembly, and testing with process optimization.
• Partner with Program Managers for new product introductions and production readiness.
• Lead capital projects, digital manufacturing initiatives, and technology upgrades.
• Ensure processes comply with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Track deliverables, milestones, risks, and corrective actions.
• Support budgeting and cost management across operations.

This individual will oversee a team of Manufacturing Engineers and CNC Programming resources while serving as a technical leader responsible for driving process improvements, supporting production operations, and ensuring manufacturing methods consistently meet safety, quality, cost, and delivery objectives.

Description

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Manufacturing Engineers and technical resources.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.
• Develop and implement manufacturing strategies that support operational and business objectives.
• Manage manufacturing engineering priorities, workload planning, and resource allocation.
• Support machining, fabrication, assembly, and testing operations with a focus on process optimization and throughput improvements.
• Partner with Program Managers and cross-functional teams to support new product introductions, production readiness, and ongoing program execution.
• Lead manufacturing process improvements, facility enhancements, technology implementation projects, and capital equipment initiatives.
• Ensure manufacturing processes comply with applicable safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Establish and track key manufacturing engineering deliverables, project milestones, risks, and corrective actions.
• Support budgeting activities and cost management initiatives across manufacturing operations.
• Advance digital manufacturing capabilities and drive adoption of new technologies that improve operational performance

Profile

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 8+ years of manufacturing engineering and/or manufacturing leadership experience.
• Experience in machining, assembly, fabrication, or other industrial manufacturing environments.
• Demonstrated success leading manufacturing improvement projects and cross-functional initiatives.
• Experience working closely with Operations and Program Management teams.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).

Preferred

• Prior leadership experience managing Manufacturing Engineers and technical teams.
• Experience with CNC machining, particularly complex 5-axis machining environments.
• Experience with welding, metal fabrication, and large-scale assemblies.
• Background implementing digital manufacturing solutions or advanced manufacturing technologies.
• Experience managing complex manufacturing changes, facility upgrades, capital equipment projects, or process transformations.
• Defense, aerospace, industrial equipment, heavy manufacturing, or other highly regulated manufacturing experience.
