Job summary

Bird Johnson Walpole, MA is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead and develop our manufacturing engineering team. As the Technical Authority, you will ensure production methods meet design intent and provide technical support to operations, aligning capabilities with safety, quality, cost, delivery, and lead time requirements.

You will drive innovation, deploy manufacturing tech, manage workload and budgets, and advance lights-out manufacturing on advanced 5-axis

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field with 8+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
• Experience leading major manufacturing engineering projects.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret clearance (U.S. citizenship required).

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental Standards and Zero Harm.
• Develop strategies to deploy Product Safety Management System.
• Foster Right First Time manufacturing culture.
• Lead and train the manufacturing engineering team to meet requirements.
• Govern improvements and innovations in manufacturing processes.
• Integrate Manufacturing Technology, Digital Manufacturing, and Product Introduction with strategy.
• Manage workload, capacity planning, and budgets.
• Implement lights-out manufacturing on 5-axis machine technology.
