About Scientia Vascular:

Position Summary:

This role will manage the interface of manufacturing engineering with the business. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring capital procurement to support rapid growth, supporting cost initiatives, and new product introduction. The manager leads cross-functional team development to meet organizational requirements and is accountable for supporting all deliverables within established financial, schedule, scope, and quality objectives.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Oversees all Manufacturing Engineering activities.
  • Supports the introduction of new products into manufacturing, ensuring early engagement with R&D to ensure manufacturability and supporting R&D timelines.
  • Provides expertise in specification, procurement, build, documentation, validation, and personnel training on automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Reviews product field returns with Quality Assurance to determine root causes of manufacturing defects and implements corrective actions.
  • Ensures compliance with FDA and international regulatory standards.
  • Drives reduction of variability to maintain process capability and scalability.
  • Implements lean systems and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Applies advanced lean and Six Sigma principles to solve technical and non-technical problems.
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvements and cost savings, including new methodologies, materials, machine processes, or products.
  • Interfaces with production personnel to troubleshoot and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Engineering degree.
  • 5-10 years of progressive manufacturing supervision/management and technical experience.
  • Experience managing complex and growing teams.
  • Strong team player.
  • Medical device manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with medical device design controls.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis of data.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint.
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Lean and Six Sigma experience.
