Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking an Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead development, optimization, and standardization of manufacturing processes. You will manage a team of process engineers, drive safety, quality, delivery, and cost improvements, and partner with operations, quality, maintenance, supply chain, and product engineering to achieve business goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
  • 7+ years in process/manufacturing engineering or operations improvement.
  • 2+ years of people leadership or team management.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and continuous improvement.
  • Experience with Lean principles and techniques (5S, Kaizen, VSM, etc.).
  • Familiarity with capital project execution and production support.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
  • Proficiency with ERP, MES, data analysis, and Microsoft Office.
  • PLC programming and automation knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of process engineers and specialists.
  • Drive process improvements focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost.
  • Analyze manufacturing processes to identify bottlenecks and waste.
  • Develop and implement standardized work and process controls.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
  • Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and facility changes.
  • Oversee root cause analysis for deviations and quality issues.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Use data and KPIs to monitor process capability and guide decisions.
  • Manage budgets, timelines, and resource planning for engineering initiatives.
  • Identify automation opportunities and digital manufacturing improvements.
  • Promote continuous improvement using Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Report performance trends and project status to leadership.
