Job summary

Voyager Technologies is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead the engineering team responsible for Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and advanced manufacturing methods across the full product lifecycle, from concept to rate production of solid rocket motors and energetic materials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 8 years in manufacturing engineering or 15 years of hands-on experience in lieu of a degree.
• Minimum 3 years of experience leading engineering teams.
• Deep expertise in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and advanced manufacturing techniques.
• Proven ability to lead the transition of manufacturing processes from development to full production.
• Hands-on experience designing, developing, and implementing manufacturing processes, tooling, systems, and SOPs.
• Proven ability to implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies with measurable results.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; knowledge of OSHA, ITAR, and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of manufacturing engineers across the full product lifecycle, establishing clear expectations and driving accountability.
• Serve as the technical authority for DFM and advanced manufacturing, embedding input from the earliest design phases.
• Own the transition of energetic manufacturing processes from development to full production, defining readiness gates.
• Lead advanced manufacturing development for new product lines in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Translate program requirements and DoD specs into manufacturing strategies within program plans and budgets.
• Implement Lean and Six Sigma across development and production with measurable metrics.
