Job summary

Nokia in Sunnyvale is seeking an Engineering Technician Manager to build and lead a 24x7 technician organization for InP PIC wafer fabrication, process development, and production operations. You will establish a new team to support Fab2 qualification and Fab1 ramp-up, guiding priorities and resource allocation.

You will mentor engineers, coordinate across process, equipment, production, and yield teams, and drive safety, quality, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of semiconductor wafer fabrication experience.
• Minimum 3 years leading 24x7 manufacturing/engineering support teams.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with SPC, DOE, and continuous improvement is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build, hire, train, and manage a high-performing Engineering Support Technician team for 24x7 coverage.
• Establish staffing plans and shift schedules; develop technician training.
• Coordinate and prioritize daily activities across engineering and production.
• Support engineering experiments, process characterization, metrology, and equipment qualifications.
• Provide technical leadership, coaching, and career development.
• Drive safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Monitor performance metrics and drive productivity, cycle time, and execution quality.
