Job summary

Nokia in California seeks an Engineering Technician Manager to build and guide a 24x7 technician organization. You’ll lead the team across wafer fab manufacturing, process development, and engineering experiments, ensuring priorities are executed on time.

You will mentor staff, coordinate with Process, Equipment, Production Operations, and Yield teams, and drive safety, quality, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
• Master's degree is preferred for this leadership role.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in semiconductor wafer fabrication, manufacturing support, and engineering operations.
• Minimum 3 years of experience leading technical or manufacturing support teams in a 24x7 environment.

Responsibilities

• Build, hire, train, and manage a high-performing Engineering Support Technician team providing 24x7 coverage.
• Establish staffing plans and shift schedules; implement technician training for Fab2 qualification and Fab1 ramp-up.
• Coordinate and prioritize daily activities across engineering and production teams to meet objectives.
• Support engineering experiments, process characterization, metrology, wafer processing, and equipment qualifications.
• Provide technical leadership, coaching, and career development for team members.
• Drive a culture of safety, quality, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Monitor performance with metrics and drive improvements in productivity and execution quality.
