Job summary

Formlabs in Somerville, MA invites you to join the Manufacturing Engineering Internship. You will own independent projects, support end-to-end test and calibration equipment, and help develop fixtures and processes for next-gen products.

You should be proficient with CAD—Onshape, Solidworks, Fusion—and have a hands-on approach to hardware. Strong debugging, data analysis (SQL/Tableau), and Python skills are valued. This paid internship runs January to April/June 2027, onsite.

Qualifications

• Portfolio of your engineering work/projects is required.
• Working proficiency with CAD (Onshape, Solidworks, Fusion etc.) and 2D drawing creation.
• Skilled at debugging, testing, and identifying root causes of electromechanical problems.
• Hands-on, self-motivated, and love to work on hardware.
• Organized, meticulous, and detail-oriented.
• Independent, self-starter with strong communication skills.
• Experience with statistical analysis and data visualization tools (SQL, Tableau, JMP, Minitab, etc).
• Experience with Python.
• Nice to Have: understanding system-level interactions of complex electro-mechanical products.
• Nice to Have: understanding of GD&T principles to define and evaluate part quality.

Responsibilities

Compensation

Interns at Formlabs are paid on a bi-weekly pay schedule. The pay range for this role will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location and expected impact on the organization. This is a salaried role, so you will always be paid based on the assumed 40 hours per week as a full-time intern. This position does not offer housing or relocation assistance.

The bi-weekly pay range for this role is:

$1,575—$1,950 USD
