Job summary

Viracon LLC in Owatonna, MN seeks Manufacturing Engineering Interns for 2027 to gain hands-on experience in a real manufacturing environment. You will work with engineering and production teams on real projects and spend significant time on the manufacturing floor.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Bachelor's in Manufacturing/Industrial/Mechanical Engineering with a 3.0+ GPA, and possess strong problem-solving and communication skills, plus an eagerness to learn and contribute to lean initiatives.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing/Industrial/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing at the time of the internship.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.
• Interest in manufacturing and hands-on engineering work.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside manufacturing engineers and production teams on real projects.
• Spend time on the manufacturing floor learning processes, equipment, and operations.
• Identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and productivity.
• Assist with troubleshooting and resolving manufacturing issues.
• Collect and analyze production data.
• Support process improvement, equipment, tooling, and layout projects.
• Assist with time studies, process documentation, and work instructions.
• Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Help implement engineering solutions and see projects through to completion.
