Job summary

JTEKT North America in Cairo, GA is seeking an Engineering Intern to assist the engineering supervisor with process improvement projects. This role offers exposure to manufacturing engineering in a hands-on environment.

The intern will help design and develop tooling and equipment, support Lean initiatives, and collaborate with multiple departments. Candidates are college students or recent graduates in engineering or related fields.

• Pursuing or completed degree in Engineering/Business
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes
• Strong communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Assist engineering supervisor with process improvement projects.
• Design and develop tooling, mechanisms, and equipment for metalworking.
• Create/modify database records.
• Provide engineering support for scrap reduction and productivity improvements using Lean tools.
• Collaborate with management and cross-functional teams.
• Work overtime as needed and as required to complete duties.
• Support 5S, Kaizen, and production systems efforts.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
