Job summary

CNH Industrial invites motivated students to join our Manufacturing Engineering Internship in Grand Island, Nebraska. You will assist with process improvement projects, data analysis, and workflow optimization while gaining hands-on exposure to real-world engineering challenges.

Summer interns work full-time (40 hours per week) from May through August. Candidates must currently be enrolled college students actively pursuing a degree to participate in the internship program.

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing engineers in analyzing, developing, and improving production processes to enhance safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and problem-solving methodologies.
• Collect, organize, and analyze production data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for operational improvements.
• Participate in time studies, workflow analysis, and line balancing activities to improve manufacturing efficiency.
• Support the development and maintenance of standard work instructions, process documentation, and training materials.
• Assist with plant floor projects involving equipment layouts, workstation ergonomics, material flow, and process optimization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Production, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Safety to support manufacturing objectives.
• Assist with capital improvement projects, including project planning, process mapping, equipment evaluations, and implementation activities.
• Create and present project updates, data summaries, and recommendations to engineering and operations leadership
• During this internship skills gained will include knowledge of manufacturing process improvements and operational best practices through hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
