Job summary

AMETEK Rotron in Woodstock, NY is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Intern Co-op to support continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and operational excellence. You'll work with engineers, production, quality, and operations to optimize processes and reduce waste.

This role provides hands-on exposure to data analysis, problem solving, and process engineering, with opportunities to learn and apply AI-assisted productivity tools.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.

Responsibilities

• Assist Manufacturing Engineers with process improvement projects focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Support the development and maintenance of manufacturing work instructions, process documentation, and SOPs.
• Participate in daily production troubleshooting and root cause investigations.
• Collect, analyze, and present manufacturing data related to productivity, scrap, yield, cycle times, and process capability.
• Assist with time studies, workflow analysis, and production layout evaluations.
• Participate in corrective action and non-conformance investigations.
• Support manufacturing equipment validation, process qualification, and tooling improvement efforts.
• Assist in the implementation of visual management, 5S, Kanban, and other lean manufacturing systems.
• Create reports, charts, and presentations for engineering and operations leadership.
• Support special projects related to automation, capacity improvement, and cost reduction.
