Job summary

AeroVironment in Melbourne, FL is offering a Summer Internship Program for a Manufacturing Engineering Intern. The 12-week, onsite program develops practical skills in manufacturing system design, Lean and Six Sigma, and process improvement under experienced engineers. Relocation assistance may be available depending on team and location.

You will work on improving processes, analyzing data, and supporting production activities while gaining real-world experience on AV unmanned systems projects.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering.
• Exposure to manufacturing, process improvement, or quality control.
• Lean/Six Sigma knowledge is a plus.
• Basic CAD and BOM familiarity preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in improving manufacturing processes focusing on efficiency and quality.
• Support Lean/Six Sigma initiatives and continuous improvement.
• Analyze production data to identify optimization opportunities.
• Help document standard work hours, sequences, and assembly steps.
• Contribute to DFMEA/PFMEA activities and cost estimation tasks.
