Job summary

AeroVironment in Dayton, OH invites rising engineers to join a 12-week Summer Internship Program. As a Manufacturing Engineering Intern, you will support the design and operation of manufacturing systems for AV Unmanned Air Vehicles, working with experienced engineers on real projects onsite.

This paid internship emphasizes Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, data analysis, and production support, with relocation/housing stipends possible.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or related engineering field.
• Minimum coursework or experience in manufacturing, process improvement, or quality control.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; CAD/Visio/Minitab a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing processes to improve efficiency and quality.
• Apply Lean and Six Sigma to continuous improvement.
• Analyze production data to identify improvement opportunities.
• Document standard work hours, sequences, and assembly procedures.
• Create and update work instructions controlling manufacturing processes.
• Participate in root cause analysis and problem solving.
