Job summary

AAF International is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Intern to support production processes and drive continuous improvement in a dynamic plant environment in Fayetteville, AR.

You will work with experienced engineers on projects to optimize throughput, reduce waste, and implement lean and Six Sigma initiatives, while gaining hands-on experience with equipment maintenance, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work in a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and data analysis tools.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes is a plus; internship or coursework in manufacturing/engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support Production Processes: analyze manufacturing processes and implement improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
• Data Analysis: collect and analyze data on throughput, cycle time and yield to identify trends.
• Quality Assurance: work with QA to perform root cause analysis and drive corrective actions.
• Continuous Improvement: participate in Lean, Six Sigma or Kaizen events to improve processes.
• Equipment Maintenance: assist maintenance with troubleshooting and preventive tasks to boost reliability.
• Documentation and Reporting: maintain process documentation and prepare presentations for stakeholders.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: collaborate with production, engineering, quality and supply chain to meet project goals.
