Job summary

Emerson in Brenham, TX offers an internship to study manufacturing engineering. You will apply technical expertise to production, help design tools, and develop processes to cut costs while improving quality.

This in-person role provides hands-on experience across multiple functions and opportunities to learn from experienced engineers. You’re pursuing an engineering degree with zero to few years of experience, able to work 40 hours per week, and authorized to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s in engineering.
• 0 years of related experience.
• Full-time, in-person 40 hours/week.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• Pursuing a degree in Industrial/Manufacturing/Mechanical/Chemical/Materials Engineering.
• GPA 3.0+ present or higher.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Apply technical expertise in production of products.
• Select, design or recommend tools, fixtures, and equipment.
• Develop manufacturing processes and procedures to reduce problems and costs.
• Recommend design changes to increase quality or reduce problems and costs.
• Solve production problems and improve process capabilities.
• Present test results and design reviews.
• Interact with other functional groups, vendors, or customers.
• Participate in the administration of technical procedures.
• Initiate and implement routine engineering change authorizations.
• Support capacity model and lean initiatives; may participate in lean six sigma improvement teams.
• May interact with teammates in numerous global locations.
