Job summary

Marvin is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Intern to support design, tooling, and process development for on-site operations in Fargo. You will contribute to equipment design, documentation, and cross-team collaboration while gaining hands-on experience with Marvin’s standards and vault systems.

The role emphasizes engineering support, project coordination, and formal documentation, with opportunities to participate in safety and process improvement initiatives at a leading window and door

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and safety standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Design/concept development: assist in or manage fixtures, tooling, processes, and equipment; detail/models per Marvin standards; create electrical schematics/drawings as needed.
• Project management: assist with planning and budgeting for engineering or maintenance projects to meet timelines.
• Communication: coordinate with design engineers and project managers to ensure designs meet requirements; communicate changes to vendors.
• Documentation: maintain schematics, control logic, literature, budgets; organize files in Inventor Vault and sustain a standardized parts library.

Job Overview

The Engineering Intern assists in the documentation, development, support, assembly, and design of new or updated jigs, fixtures, machines, and processes.

Highlights of your role

• DESIGN/CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT- Assist in or manage the design of fixtures, tooling, process, and equipment. Detail and annotate models and drawings to Marvin standards. Create electrical schematics/drawings to support internal builds and updates.
• PROJECT MANAGEMENT- Assist with management and planning for work with engineering or maintenance departments to ensure projects are meeting the budgetary and timeline constraints required.
• COMMUNICATION - Work with Design Engineers and Project managers to ensure designs and detailing meet the requirements of the project. Communicate equipment, jig, process, and product changes proactively. Communicate with vendors to quote and procure components and equipment.
• DOCUMENTATION-- Maintain all necessary documentation for projects including but not limited to detailed mechanical and electrical schematics, control system logic, associated manufacturing/process literature, and budgets. Set up and maintain file structures within Inventor vault. Organize and update a CEG Standard Parts Library. Develop and sustain a folder structure that is user friendly and intuitive. Download and convert purchased parts to functional iParts within Vault.

• Are currently pursuing a degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes and safety standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
