Job summary

Smurfit Westrock invites a Manufacturing Engineering Intern/Co‑op (2027) to join our paper mill teams across the United States. You will support operations, reliability and process improvements, gaining hands‑on experience with industrial systems and collaborating with operations, maintenance and engineering peers.

You will work on safety, productivity, cost reduction, and energy efficiency projects while preparing for full‑time roles in manufacturing or process industries.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an accredited engineering degree in a relevant discipline.
• Ability to work in an industrial manufacturing environment.
• Adherence to safety rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Apply engineering fundamentals to real‑world manufacturing challenges.
• Analyze operational data and present findings to engineering and plant leadership.
• Participate in continuous improvement and cost‑reduction initiatives.
• Follow and promote all plant safety rules and best practices.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, EHS, and engineering teams.
