Job summary

RTX, the world leader in aerospace and defense, invites engineering students to join a Manufacturing Engineering COOP at the Santa Isabel site in Puerto Rico. This full-time, onsite program runs January to June, demanding hands-on support for daily manufacturing needs with a focus on process improvements.

Candidates must reside in Puerto Rico during the CO-OP period; a mentor will guide projects and implement mistake-proof solutions while gaining exposure to testing and documentation practices.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of studies toward BS in Engineering, preferably Computer, Industrial, Electrical or Mechanical.
• Good reading, writing & math skills.
• Good computer skills (MS Office; Word and Outlook).
• Understand theory of electronic circuitry & electrical components.
• Ability to read and interpret assembly/test instructions, engineering standards, prints, schematics.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Use diagnostic and hand tools.
• Understand and operate electronic test equipment.
• Handle multiple tasks at the same time.
• CAD Design Capability (NX, Solid Works preferable).
• Java, PHP, MATLAB Programming capability preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the set up & operation of a variety of manufacturing & test equipment.
• Support Testing a variety of electromechanical units using prescribed test procedures.
• Support configuration and/or verification of regular test equipment to fit special tests.
• Interpret and record test results.
• Read and interpret assembly and test instructions, engineering prints, and schematics.
• Utilize computer systems (e.g. work instructions, labor charging, prints, and standards).
• Process material requisitions in accordance with established procedures.
• Support evaluation, disposition, and implementation of corrective actions following non-conforming material procedures.
• Promote mistake proofing solutions; recognize and resolve work area issues.
• Maintain accurate records of all work performed.
• English (read, write, speak) is required when communicating with customers, co-workers, or supervisors who only speak English.
