Job summary

TE Connectivity in Fuquay-Varina, NC is seeking a Co-op in the Energy Business Unit to assist manufacturing engineering and operations. You will work on process improvement, quality controls and data-driven problem solving during a 10–12 week program.

The internship emphasizes professional development, mentoring via NAVIGATE, and exposure to cross-functional projects. May through August, onsite at 8000 PURFOY Road.

Qualifications

  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Enrolled in BA/BS in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Previous internship or large project experience preferred.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Manufacturing Engineering team to improve processes.
  • Assist Operations in resolving production issues and implementing solutions.
  • Improve yields, assist with quality controls and process capability.
  • Participate in safety, quality, productivity and growth projects.
  • Design tests and experiments, fabricate tooling and fixtures.
  • Prepare presentations showing project status and achievements.

Job Overview

At TE Connectivity, you’ll help bring our purpose to life by creating a safer, sustainable, productive and connected future. Your role as a Co-Op in the Energy Business Unit, will help us make the connections that move the world forward by:

  • Support the Manufacturing Engineering team in improving manufacturing processes using structured problem-solving skills.
  • Support Operations in resolving production issues and implementing permanent solutions.
  • Be in a dynamic role where you will improve yields, assist with quality controls, and improve process capability.
Responsibilities
  • Participate in projects related to safety, quality, productivity, and growth.
  • Design and coordinate standard engineering tests and experiments.
  • Design, procure, and fabricate tooling and fixtures.
  • Assist in planning, organization, and conducting all aspects of technical studies.
  • Assist in writing Manufacturing Process Instructions.
  • Provide engineering support for other departments as needed.
  • Works on special administrative projects as directed and prioritized by manager, such as data entry and data analysis.
  • Prepare and complete a presentation to the department and for personal portfolio at the end of each work rotation showing project status and achievements.
You’re the kind of person we are looking for if you:
  • Have Received a High School Diploma or GED
  • Are currently enrolled in a program or pursuing a BA/BS Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering from an accredited college or university or have equivalent work history. (In certain circumstances, students who are taking a gap year will be considered.)
  • Have previous internship or large project experience is preferred
  • Are authorized to work in the U.S.

Compensation
  • Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $20.91 – 37.41/hour (subject to change dependent on physical location) Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.

Timeline

TE Connectivity recruits on campus between September and March for New Grad (FT), Rotational, Internship and Co-op positions beginning in May. Once you have applied to a position, your resume and application will be reviewed. If you are selected to move to the next step in the application process, you will be contacted by a recruiter. Once you accept an offer, the onboarding process will begin in January for interns who have committed to offers in the fall semester and upon acceptance for interns who have committed to offers in the spring semester.
