Job summary

Advanced Atomization Technologies (AA TECH) seeks a Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op in the United States (New York area) to support testing, development, documentation, and implementation of advanced manufacturing and assembly processes for fuel injector nozzles.

You will drive continuous improvement through data-driven analysis, apply Six Sigma principles, and help ensure safety, quality, and efficiency in production operations while collaborating with quality, manufacturing, and design teams.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited bachelor or graduate program with a major in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or similar.
• Prior Co-Op experience preferred.
• Experience with 3D modeling (CAD) software preferred.
• Experience with statistical data analysis preferred.
• Experience with LEAN manufacturing methods preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with engineering and shop personnel on projects that test both technical and interpersonal capabilities.
• Learn the processing and documentation required to meet FAA quality levels.
• Employ a data-driven approach for improving manufacturing and gaging processes.
• Support production operations through creation of new fixturing and manufacturing techniques with focus on safety, quality, and ergonomics.

Position Summary

A Manufacturing Engineering Co-Op is an engineering student position focused on supporting the testing, development, documentation, and implementation of advanced manufacturing and assembly processes for fuel injector nozzles. This role is responsible for driving continuous improvement through data driven analysis, applying Six Sigma principles, and ensuring the safety, quality, and efficiency of production operations. Candidates hired for this position will be immersed heavily in a team-based environment in which they will be exposed to a variety of roles including quality, manufacturing, and design of injector nozzles for various commercial applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with engineering and shop personnel on projects that will test both their technical and interpersonal capabilities.
• Will learn the processing and documentation required to meet the elevated quality levels dictated by the FAA.
• Employ a data-driven approach for improving manufacturing and gaging processes
• Support production operations through the creation of new fixturing and manufacturing techniques with a focus on safety, quality, and ergonomics

Required Qualifications

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to walk, stand, stoop, bend, crawl, climb and sit for extended periods of time. The team member is required to demonstrate manual dexterity and use hands to operate machinery. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Also expected of the team member is regular attendance and the ability to work cooperatively and professionally with others. May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
