As a Manufacturing Engineering Co-op, you\'ll work alongside experienced engineers, quality professionals, and production teams to support real-world projects that directly impact product quality, manufacturing efficiency, and customer satisfaction. What You\'ll Do
Make an Impact Through Real Engineering Projects
- Lead a project to review and update tolerances on released assembly drawings using SolidWorks.
- Collaborate with Quality, Design Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to ensure design updates meet customer requirements and industry standards.
- Participate in engineering change activities that directly support product performance and manufacturability.
- Partner with manufacturing technicians and engineers to identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce waste, and increase operational efficiency.
- Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement projects across the production floor.
Turn Data into Decisions
- Collect, organize, and analyze manufacturing data using Minitab, Excel, and other tools.
- Identify trends, investigate production challenges, and help develop solutions that improve quality and productivity.
Create and Improve Documentation
- Develop and update manufacturing documentation, including:
- Work Instructions
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Process Flow Diagrams
- Engineering Change Documentation
Support Manufacturing Operations
- Assist with equipment maintenance, validation, and calibration activities.
- Help ensure manufacturing equipment operates safely and efficiently.
Collaborate Across the Business
- Work closely with teams across Engineering, Quality, Production, Supply Chain, and R&D.
- Gain exposure to the full product lifecycle and learn how cross-functional teams work together to bring innovative products to market.
Promote a Safe Workplace
- Support a culture of safety by following established policies, procedures, and best practices.
What We\'re Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor\'s degree in:
- Manufacturing Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Industrial Engineering
- Or a related engineering discipline
- Experience with or willingness to learn SolidWorks and engineering drawing interpretation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Experience using ERP systems or manufacturing software.
- Familiarity with statistical analysis and data visualization tools.
- SolidWorks certification or advanced CAD experience.
