Job summary

AKG North America is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to design production tools and machines, and to develop processes and controls for new programs. You will set up equipment, train staff, and write operation procedures to ensure efficient manufacturing operations.

The role requires a BS degree in mechanical or industrial engineering or equivalent, plus at least three years of hands-on experience in tooling or machine design, and knowledge of capital budgeting is helpful.

Qualifications

• B.S.M.E. degree or a B.S. degree with coursework concentration in Industrial Technology or Industrial Engineering.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, with tools and/or machine design experience.
• Experience in capital appropriation evaluation and analysis is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Design tools and/or machines for the manufacture of company products.
• Redesign, repair, or replace in-process production equipment, production control hardware, and tooling.
• Develop processes, methods, tooling, and production controls for new programs. Supervise their assembly and proofing.
• Set up new equipment, ensure satisfactory operation, and train others on proper usage.
• Write procedures for the operation of new or existing equipment.
• Stay informed on new manufacturing technology and equipment and assess their potential applications.
• Justify budgeting, design, installation, training, and startup of manufacturing projects.
• Implement process improvements and cost/waste reduction initiatives.
• Support the design review and implementation of lean manufacturing techniques.
