Job summary

Layup Parts in Huntington Beach, CA designs and builds rapid tooling and fixtures for aerospace, defense, and robotics. You will design multi-piece molds, work with prepregs, and push manufacturing innovation on the production floor.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree and hands-on design experience in manufacturing environments.
• Ability to design multi-piece molds and complex tooling independently.
• Experience with composites and tooling design is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design tooling and fixtures that are accurate, scalable, and production-ready with thorough documentation.
• Create ply books and kits from customer data and projector programs.
• Provide DFM feedback and cost-down ideas to scale production.
• Collaborate with software team to test and refine in-house tools.
• Spend time on the production floor to observe and improve tooling impact.
• Help budget and plan for new equipment and expand capabilities.
• Develop new manufacturing methods as the company grows its capabilities.
