Job summary

Advantage Technical is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer - Tool and Die for an onsite role in Sterling Heights, MI. You will support CNC machining and tooling development for gear manufacturing, lead tooling implementation, and drive process improvements from PPAP to production launches.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of CNC machining or manufacturing engineering experience, with strong knowledge of PPAP, process controls, and lean initiatives. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of CNC machining or manufacturing engineering experience.
• Experience with tooling, CNC mills, and high-volume production environments.
• Strong knowledge of PPAP, process controls, and manufacturing quality systems.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Lean Manufacturing, Lean Six Sigma, gear machining, or gear grinding experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support CNC machining and tooling development for gear manufacturing processes
• Lead tooling implementation, tracking, and process optimization initiatives
• Complete PPAP documentation and support production launch activities
• Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction
• Conduct process audits and ensure compliance with quality standards
• Develop process documentation, work instructions, and quality control methods
• Support lean manufacturing initiatives and variability reduction projects
• Investigate manufacturing issues, implement corrective actions, and verify results
• Assist with ISO compliance activities and environmental standards adherence
