Job summary

Regal Rexnord in Indiana is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Tech III to diagnose complex systems, support grinding operations, and mentor junior technicians. You will assist in equipment setup, tool ordering, and ensure adherence to production routing and prints.

The role involves hands-on problem solving, potential cross-system failures, and collaboration with Engineering on new parts and equipment design. You will operate precision measurement tools and uphold safety and export policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and 3–5 year technical degree or equivalent experience.
• Green belt certification within 3 years.
• Travel required for runoff of new or rebuilt equipment.
• Proficient with Word, Excel & PowerPoint; Internet skills.

Responsibilities

• Assign work to S&O operators and instruct on procedures and gaging.
• Assist in grinding setups and review job routing.
• Tackle complex diagnostics and mentor technicians.
• Work with Engineering on new part setups and machine design.
• Perform first piece approval and operate precision measuring equipment.

Work Model: This is a fully onsite role, with work performed at your designated Regal Rexnord office.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Under direction of Manufacturing Engineer Manager, performs and focus on complex diagnostics and multi-system troubleshooting. A Mfg. Engineer Tech III will be involved in complex, independent problem-solving and contributing to process improvement. Including various functions from setup of grinding equipment and assist in ordering of tooling necessary for the grinding operation. Will mentor newer technicians. Position may require some supervision coverage.

JOB DESCRIPTION (Key Responsibilities)

• Assigns work to appropriate S&O operator, and Operator B personnel, and instructs them as to proper procedures and gaging methods to be followed.
• Assist in setups and troubleshooting on grinding equipment (understand grind wheel capabilities, speeds and feeds) Providing second ok and review job to be compliant with production routing and/or print requirements.
• Takes oncomplex diagnostics and multi-system troubleshooting, solving harder, non-routine problems independently. May be involved in root cause analysis, process improvements, and mentoring newer technicians.
• Can handle complex, multi-system issues without constant supervision.
• Tackles unusual, cross-system failures that require deeper analysis.
• May identify and implement process improvements or changes.
• Work with Engineering for new part setups (machines and rates) as well as new machine design and application.
• Assist in management and order of grinding tooling (grinding wheels, diamonds, jaws, drivers, quills, diamond rolls).
• May have expanded safety authorization and the ability to approve certain corrective actions without immediate escalation
• Perform first piece approval per set up approval process.
• Operate precision measuring equipment.
• Follow Ethics and Safety Programs
• Adhere to all Export, Import and Supply Chain Security Policy requirements relevant to the position
• Follow State and Federal Environmental Compliance Programs
• Adhere to AS9100 Standards
• Job duties include but are not limited to the above
