Job summary

Regal Rexnord is seeking a skilled Grinding Technician to support setup, troubleshooting, and tooling management for grinding operations. You will collaborate with Engineering on process improvements, participate in new part setups, and ensure compliance with routing, prints, and quality standards.

The role requires a two-year technical degree or equivalent experience, a green belt within three years, and strong communication skills to operate in a matrixed environment.

  • Assigns work to S&O operators and instructs on proper procedures and gaging.
  • Assist in setups and troubleshooting on grinding equipment.
  • Provide second ok and review for routing and print compliance.
  • Submit workorders for down equipment and help set priority.
  • Vendor engagement and scheduling with Maintenance.
  • Work with Engineering on process improvements and setup reductions.
  • Assist in new part setups and machine design considerations.
  • Order and manage grinding tooling and accessories.
  • Perform first piece approval per setup.
  • Operate precision measuring equipment.
  • Adhere to Ethics, Safety, Export, and Environmental policies.

Job description

Work Model: This is a fully onsite role, with work performed at your designated Regal Rexnord office.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Under direction of Manufacturing Engineer II, performs various functions from assisting in setup and trouble‑shooting of grinding equipment, and ordering of all tooling necessary for the grinding operation. Submit workorders and work with maintenance to set priority. Assist Engineering with new part setup, setup reduction, cycle reduction, and maintain controlled setup cards. Position may require some supervision coverage.

JOB DESCRIPTION (Key Responsibilities)
  • Assigns work to appropriate S&O operator, and Operator B personnel, and instructs them as to proper procedures and gaging methods to be followed.
  • Assist in setups and troubleshooting on grinding equipment (understand grind wheel capabilities, speeds and feeds)
  • Providing second ok and review job to be compliant with production routing and/or print requirements.
  • Submit workorders for down equipment and help set priority.
  • Vendor engagement and scheduling in alignment with Maintenance.
  • Work with Engineering on process improvements including quick change overs (setup reduction), standard work procedures, stock reductions, cycle reduction, and maintenance of controlled setup cards.
  • Work with Engineering for new part setups (machines and rates) as well as new machine design and application.
  • Assist in management and order of grinding tooling (grinding wheels, diamonds, jaws, drivers, quills, diamond rolls).
  • Perform first piece approval per set up approval process.
  • Operate precision measuring equipment.
  • Follow Ethics and Safety Programs.
  • Adhere to all Export, Import and Supply Chain Security Policy requirement relevant to the position.
  • Follow State and Federal Environmental Compliance Programs.
  • Adhere to AS9100 Standards.
