Job summary
SpaceX is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer, Solar (Starlink) to drive electro-mechanical assembly and testing processes from concept to full production in Redmond, WA. You will partner with design teams to enable manufacturability and scale manufacturing to high volumes, while focusing on cost, quality, and throughput.
You will lead prototype builds, define tooling needs, and explore automation opportunities with ROI analyses.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
- 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment via work, project, or student experience.
- Must be available to work extended hours and weekends.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement electro-mechanical assembly and test processes.
- Collaborate with the mechanical design team to incorporate design for manufacturability.
- Lead prototype builds ensuring milestones for production development are met.
- Ensure manufacturing systems hit high volume rate, cost and quality targets.
- Lead facilities development, floor layout, headcount requirements and material flow definition.
- Identify tooling and hardware requirements, design and implement into production processes.
- Identify automation opportunities and evaluate ROI for each.
- Work with in-house resources or vendors to develop and implement on production line.
