Job summary

Actalent in Horsham, PA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support prototype development and early-stage production builds, focusing on assembling, testing, and troubleshooting complex mechanical and electromechanical products.

You will collaborate with design, production, quality, and supplier teams to improve manufacturability, develop tooling, and create clear work instructions and build procedures for scalable production.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in regulated environments such as medical devices or aerospace.
• Experience designing assembly jigs, fixtures and production tooling.
• Strong documentation and communication skills for work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Support prototype development and early-stage production builds, with testing and validation.
• Work hands-on on the shop floor to assemble, test, and troubleshoot products.
• Collaborate with design, production, quality, and supplier teams to improve manufacturability.
• Develop tooling, fixtures, and production aids for reliable manufacturing.
• Analyze designs using SolidWorks/AutoCAD and provide feedback to improve assembly.
• Create detailed documentation including work instructions and build procedures.
• Identify root causes of build issues and implement corrective actions.
• Drive continuous improvement via lean and Six Sigma to reduce waste and increase productivity.
• Ensure processes meet regulatory standards typical of medical devices/aerospace.
• Support transition from prototype to scalable production with process refinement.
